The Bard Q-Tec Water Source Heat Pump allowed the
project to retain its historic character while providing each class room

Tennessee Valley
Authority
Nashville, Tennessee
Not all geothermal systems offer the same degree of
operating savings. A third party study compared the Bard QW series ground
source heat pump with built-in energy recovery ventilators with the
combination of another manufacturer's 3-ton console heat pump and separate
ventilation air unit. The results estimated that Bard would save
$1,300/classroom on installation cost and would continued to provide
operating savings of $493/classroom per year.
